Back in Black!

Back in Black

If you have been paying attention to the trends and popularity of design, you have probably noticed a large number of people leaning towards a more modern tone.

What do we mean by that exactly? Simply put, people want a door that is black, white, or grey.

That’s right, it isn’t just a craze, it is one of the BIGGEST housing and design trends of not only 2018, and will lead the charge into and through 2019!

The best part? According to an analysis from Zillow, ” …on average, houses with black or charcoal gray front doors sold for as much as $6,271 more than expected.”

This is after evaluating over 135,000 photos, dating back to 2010!

What exactly is it about the color black that is so appealing, and has the power to increase your overall home value? Aside from being trendy, and giving a clean look; black doors are serious, stately, and actually give consumers a sense of safety and security!

Of course painting your door black (insert Rolling Stones song here) isn’t the only reason that you should consider changing your door color.

According to HGTV, ” exterior improvements, when done right, have a return on investment of more than 95%.”

Black door

While a black door won’t necessarily fit EVERY home, it is absolutely something to keep in mind with when it is time to make an entryway change.

If you are in the market for a new door, you may want to consider painting it black. After all, trends drive the market, and there are not many ways to boost your home value this quickly, or easily.

Of course BWI has made it even easier to get these products to you thanks to our ability to paint or stain your doors that you order! We have 2 standard black colors. One is peppercorn for those textured doors, and the other is SW6258 (Tricorn Black) for those smooth doors.
